outboard motor? Do I have a problem or is this common?

Sometimes it is possible with a tilt trailer to do it in the yard, but you gotta be careful.

Can anyone tell me what this gauge is?

Yes, you can do it. In order to do it safely, you should see your marine dealer to buy jacks made for lifting boats off of trailers.

They are not very expensive. Just be careful where you put them so you don't knock the boat over when removing the trailer.

Please provide me a typical connection/wiring diagram using a scr/thyrister SanRex TG35F60.?

You could also use rachet straps hooked to the trusses in the garage. I have done this several times to use my trailer. Just don't get under the boat for safety. Just put one strap on the front end and one on each side of the rear because of the weight of the motor. Use the large straps (2" wide) not the little ones because there is a fair ammount of weight there. You'll only have to raise it a few inches to clear the trailer.

how to winterize 86 bayliner?

what kind of work on the trailer? if i were you i'd get a plan together that wouldn't take more than a day and go to the water, tie the boat up, and then do the work. if you drop a boat off jacks or a truss breaks you could be looking at a great cost to rectify. of course it IS your boat.

captains is this true?

I have a 40 foot cruiser that weights 14,000 lbs empty, no fuel or water the marina where I keep it takes it out on slings with a crane and put it on their trailer , they take it to an empty spot
in the parking lot and jack it up on 4 corners with house jacks.
they put a piece of 2x8 about 8 ft long and then a 4x4 the same
length between the 2x8 and the jack.. it works , bigger boats
than mine are also done this way. these guys are pros and
they are responsible for any damage.. they have done it for 4 years now, and so far no damage . I think you could do the
same with car hydraulic jacks. just be careful what you use
for bases for your jacks to give it the height. you come down to
think about it, 14,000 lbs or 3,000 lbs is not all that heavy..My
boat sits outside shrink wrapped in cold winter weather.. live
in the Northeast 100 other big boats there , never heard of
any problems.

What is the smallest size boat, that you can safely take on the atlantic? Either sailing or motor?

Hi, I'm not sure what type of work you want to do on your bass tracker. If you want to replace one of the boards that hold the boat on the trailer, you can probably leverage the boat up with a block of wood and replace the damaged wood. If you want to replace the axel, I would simply put the trailer on jack stands and remove and replace the axel.

how to change my power tilt/trim to manual(temporarlly)?

I've always filled my garage up with water then used duct tape to hold it to the rafters, after that open the garage door to let the water out.
Reverse to get it back down.

I need a mans opinion on gift for Dad?

would depend on the trailer configuration. ill assume its a standard block trailer, and not a rollar coaster. which would be much easier.
one way i have employed many times is using tires.
placing 2 or 3 tires behind the boat. then using man power, or a winch if not enough man power is available, push the boat back until its stern is on the tires, then pull the trailer slower from beneath it. placing more tires as you go along its keel, so as not to break the boats back. then just suport it with 2x4s until your ready to go back on.
back o use the winch on the trailer to pull the trailer under the boat! not the boat onto the trailer. remove the tires as you go, and go slow.
worked for me when im at a mariner or something and not got acess to boat lifts.
another possibility, if just launch the boat and keep it in a mariner until your done. however, if the work you need to do is because the trailer wont move, then that ide is not much use.
