It is a GP760, Does it have a key? Why does not the function meter come on? What is the buzzer for? It turns but does not start, How come? Why am I so stupid?

Yes, you need a lanyard to start it. If you look at the black module on the left handlebar, you have a green start button, a red start button, and on the top there is a black knob. Most Walmarts sell a universal lanyard in their boating section. The yamaha key will have a small Y stamped on it. plug that in, and clip the other end to your lifejacket. This way, if you fall off, the engine will die, so you canswim over to it, instead of watching it head off in the sunset. I fyour new to jetskiing, I highly recomend you go to whereever you want to ride, and introduce yourself to some fellow riders, and ask for help/advice. By and large, jetskiers are a great friendly group of people, with a passion for the sport. Make some new friends!
