How do i bleed the air out of a power trim system on a 45 mercury,,,, I?

Question:
I changed the electric trim motor and now it is air bound

Answers:

can i just spray over normal paint on my outboard with hammerite?

Locate the fill plug and remove. Top up with trim oil and replace plug. Cycle down and up once,carefully remove plug again allowing excess air to escape. Top up, replace plug and cycle again. Do this 5-6 times topping up with oil in between. After a few hours of operation top up with oil if needed.
