Question:
I am inquiring about the actual physics of the trailering process.

Do the Japanese build boats?

Generally we see a boat trailer being pulled down the road. Occasionally a truck and trailer has to backup, where the truck is pushing the trailer. However, I have seen at launch ramps trucks with a trailer hitch on the front bumper and the boat trailer hooked to the front for easier launching.

A boat TRAILER allways follows behind a tow vehicle. Pushing the trailer with a tow vehicle would be extremely hard to do for a driver to accomplish. With the trailer behind a vehicle, the entire setup is much more stable and economic.

winterizing 86 2.3 bayliner boat moter?

well in fact you do push the trailer in a fashion. When you hitch the trailer to the towing vehicle you place the coupling of the trailer over the ball. As you start to drive the towing vehicle forward the vehicle having the ball attached applies a force to the inside front of the hitch pushing the front of the hitch forward. As the hitch is solid and strong enough to withstand this force the rest of the trailer follows the front part of the hitch. This pushing force applies as long as you continue to accelerate the towing vehicle.

Best way to replace the worn carpet on my trailer bunks?

When you lift your foot off of the accelerator and apply it to the brake pedal (Forget the trailer may have brakes for this exercises) the trailer hitch now applies a force to the rear of the ball causing the trailer to now push the towing vehicle.

It is pulled behind the vehicle, just like any other trailer, but anything over 750kg has to have its own braking system on the trailer.
