Have you ever lived on a boat off the pier?

depends on what you want it for really. i got an aluminum 14' lund 25 hp motor . i do alot of fishing and camping and this holds a family of 4 comfortably. if you've never had a boat before i would find a really cheap, old boat for your first year ! that way if you smuck it up or sink it or it comes off your trailer you wont be out that much. this will give you practice loading unloading and scratches or dents wont matter. go for something 14 to 16 foot and 40 to 60 hp . i bought brand new 10 years ago if i could do it again i would buy a used boat with no motor on it and buy a new motor under warrantee.now good luck and happy boating

How can i buy a boat from taiwan or china?

Now you're talking "SMART", a Boston Whaler is "Unsinkable" even when cut in half, and people know this, so it is a "HIGH DEMAND" boat, with Great Re-sale value, so don't let the price throw you, you'll get Most if not all of it back when you go to sell it, more importantly it is safe. I have the 15' Boston Whaler "Sport" with a 50 h.p Johnson, it's a fast package that can go places other 15 footers only "DREAM" of. My Friend has the 13' "Sport" with a 40 H.P Johnson, a real "HOT ROD" Row boat, when the Bay is calm, his boat is faster but, when the "CHOP" kicks up, my boat is faster, as the 15' model is the 1st one (on the classic's), to start with the same hull as on the big 22' footers, so it has the slight "V" to it that cuts through the waves better. Both boat models (13' and 15') are used as rescue craft for Police, and Fire Departments, both of our boats have assisted in "Rescue's", and has helped out The U.S. Coast Guard in "Shallow Water", the shallow draft of the boat is invaluable, a very steady, secure, platform.

Who invented the steam engine?

For example I use a 14ft aluminum vhull john boat with a 9.9hp johnson outboard for small freshwater lakes, in my area some lakes allow only 10hp or smaller and some are limited to electric trolling motors only so in this case the little john boat works out great.

Why do most boats have the steering wheel on the right side?

I had a McKee craft which is similar to the boston whaler. It is 14ft and had the max horsepower outboard that the hull was rated for a 70hp johnson. That little skiff would pretty much hover over the water once it came up on plane. So for larger lakes this was the perfect rig and would get me from point A to B in a jiffy, I never had a speedometer so I can't say for sure how fast it went. The skiff was a side console teleflex steering, with two pedestal chairs and had a port to starboard bench in the rear that would sit two adults comfortably and a forward hatch for storage.

Has anyone ever towed a 3400lb boat with a 2001 Honda Odyssey?

I got lucky and paid $2k for the rig with galvanized trailer and fishfinder and sold it for $1750 after two yrs of owning it. I only sold it since I didn't use it enough to justify keeping it.
