If you were going to buy an old beat up sailboat cheap (relatively)?
What kinda engine takes 100:1 ratio? Anyway the very correct answer to your ratio question is:::100 parts fuel to one part oil..The easiest way to actually measure this out to make a mix is to buy a "ratio-rite" measuring cup container available from any half equipped motorcycle shop for around $5.00Problem with 30hp Johnson, again?
What are you trying to mix? boat, sled, chainsaw, weedwacker........?I hope you used a marine 2 stroke oil (biodegradeable). Normal two stroke is mineral oil based and will give more smoke.

A 100 to 1 oil mix is achieved through oil injection 2 strokes at idle. W.O.T. it's about 50 to 1. Premixing oil to gas ratio is 1 pint to 6 gallons period !!! Oil injected 2 strokes have a oil bin and mix it on it's own with the gas, separately. If you do not have a oil injection motor then it is imperative that your mix in the tank is 50 to 1. It will starve for oil at high RPM and burn the crank. If you are talking about a brand new 2 stroke then you can run a 50 to 1 ratio in the gas, along !! with the oil injection , which is = to 25 to 1 at W.O.T, just to break it in. After break in, no oil in the gas tank if it is oil injected. It's the oil metering pump that allows it to run under 1000 rpm at a 100 to 1 ratio. Mainly for trolling.where to find parts for a johnson boat?
i wouldn't chance it. stay with 50 to 1 and let it smoke a little. your math is correct however for 100 to 1.More Questions & Answers ...
