Question:
Is ther a rule of thumb for input force on a hand crank winch?
This is a continuation of my previous question.
is it right to scavenge this boat in Devon?
I have read that whn pulling a rope an average man can apply about 75% of his weight.
Why do you enjoy boats and/or boating?
I doing calculations does one assume .5 or .75 for the efficency?
Answers:
Is there a business that cleans and scotchguards boatcovers?
General rule is only use your hand to crank it. More input than that will likey break it.Efficiency varies by alot of factors, primarily friction. Ball bearings in the device help reduce the friction. Plain metal wheels on metal axles do not help.
how do you control a ship, do you sail it,pilot it, drive it ?
i dont knowI would like to know something about ROOKIE BOATS OF MISSISSIPPI. PLEASE ADVISE?
I don't see how the amount of force someone could place on pulling a rope would have anything to do with a hand crank winch. Plus it would make a difference as to friction, mechanical advantage (if any) and a host of other factors.can you buy hammerite paint in a spray can or just tins and where would i gt it if i can in a spray?
Generally speaking, I have seen hand cranked winches pull in 26ft pontoon boats, 20ft river boats, or something like my dinky 8ft pontoon boat (aka the AquaCub) that are all the same size. I have never heard of rules of thumb for such a thing, but I've heard and seen crazier things in the world, especially when it deals with boating.More Questions & Answers ...
