Mercruiser 165 Engine/Lower Unit Question?

Question:
I purchased a lower unit for my MerCruiser 165 engine in a Mark Twain boat. Excellent looking lower unit, but when I install it in the engine, the gears get stuck..

My friend 12 foot Jon Boat 8.0HP motor won't stay cranked up, what do you think is going on?

Would anyone have any ideas or a listing of the assembled parts?

Planning on living on a boat in Florida. Anyone know laws, regulations? Dock fees, costs?any advice?

I think I have bad fuel in on old chrysler 35hp outboard. How do I change it?

on that rig there's an intermittent "kill" switch. buy a Clymer service manual from your nearest boat store and it will explain how to set it. it momentarily kills the engine to relieve the torque when coming out of gear. it's fairly simple once you see the book. i have one too.
