Best time to launch a boat?

Question:
What would be the best time to launch a sailboat? Like I know when the tide is going out is the best time but is there a tide height that is too low to launch a boat on? If so what is it? Thanks in advance to all those who answer.

How many bolts are there in a cruiser ship?

It depends on your boat depth. Clearly u want to leave the dock when the tide is high enough to carry th boat 2 sea. So the lowest high tide depends on ur boat depth

Why was the steamboat necessary ?

aye aye captain,
anytime is a good time to be on the deep and briney,
it all depends on the draught of the vessel you only need enough water under the keel to float so my suggestion is to ask the locals how deep the area is at low tide and go from there also you need to take into consideration if there is a swell running then you are going to need deep water so you dont bottom out in the trough of the waves, if you have acces to a deep water boat ramp i would suggest you take it there as you shouldnt have any probs with touching the bottom
less ye be a land lubber
if in doubt dont go out
is my motto
may you have full sails and be six sheets to the wind after the sun goes over the yard-arm, me matey

the best time to launch a sail boat is after you put the plug in! seriously, this is a bit silly of a question, the tide height is something as a boat operator you should be aware of prior to your launching/sailing of said boat. the tide height would be too low to launch your boat if the water level is less than the draft of your vessel!

Boat Problems...?

What type of boat? If you have something like a laser, its no big deal to be careful for a little bit with a halfway down rudder and daggerboard. If you have something like a swing keel boat, just use your outboard to get to deeper water and then do everything. I have a Laser 2 and I always take it to the end of the dock just to get in the deep water. Running aground is not fun.

Where do you do your boating?

Where I come from there's no tides... we have ice. So the best time around here to launch one's boat is AFTER the ice goes out... and get her into drydock BEFORE the ice returns...

What type of boat?
Where are you?
We launch whenever the tide is high enough, not when going out.
It can get too low to come in.
Tide varies by area and date and weather.
We only are supposed to get 18 inches of tide on the Chesapeake but we get extra highs and extra lows depending on the moon phase and the wind.
We can go to the marina and there are 2 feet of barnacles showing on the bullocks, 2 feet below normal low.
Today it will be over the banks as we are having coastal flooding and a storm.
