What would be the best wood to make a raft out of, and what should it be coated with?

I'm looking for wood with the best overall buoyancy and something that will resist water absorbtion, also something to coat it with that will facilitate this as well as protect it form sea water for years to come.

oak or balsa wood oaks ur best bet if not use pine and coat it in varnish balsa is a little soft so u may not want to use it
