How do I set ign.timingon my boat engine?

I have a 1975 chriscraft W/350Q engine#BL15 223352. What flywheel mark do I line up with the pointer in the window over the flywheel to get 10 degree advance?

One of the easiest way to do this, is look at marine manual to select the correct mark. If that is not possible. put the timing lite on it, and you will know right away. Now, when you line the timing mark to top dead center, you timing is set a zero (0). You should be able to go to a parts store and rent a timing lite, that you can set the ten degrees right in the lite, and set the engine at top dead center. Its the easiest and most accurate way of doing it. Your engine will be set a 10 degrees advanced.

The engine is basically a Chevrolet engine, if you can time one of them then you can time your boats engine, I hope you have water running through the engine if you are running it. In the end if you really don't know what your doing let some one qualified do it, it will be cheaper in the long run.
