I recently rebuilt a 40' fishing boat; long lining and operating
no more than 50 miles off shore in tropical waters........hull was 3/4 inch Fiberglas, and if I was doing it in wood I would have done 2x3 oak frames on 12" centers and 1.25 planking.....same boat going off shore in Europe or New England in winter would be 4x4 frames on 12" centers and 2" planking........
