I have a MotorGuide SW-8HB trolling motor, with 71 ft-lb. thrust, 24-volt. It was already on a boat that I bought; sometimes it will work and sometimes not. I'd like to get rewiring instructions. Is there any place that I could find that?

Do as stated above and also turn your foot pedal over and look for black wire connectors or rust.The top is held on my 3 or 4 screws from the under side of the head (top plastic peace on trolling motor shaft) take that off and also look for blackened wires. That will indicate a short or over heating. Also might want to check the circuit breakers back by your trolling motor batteries, than can go bad and create the same symptoms. Check all wire connections for rust and make sure they are tight. Then go with the service center. If I remember right you can find the nearest service center to you on their web page. Which is
