First major service is not due until 100 hrs.If you are worried about it and considering buying it, take it to a Yamaha outboard service center and have them hook up the computer, this will break down the Rpm's run for how long and show any codes or service work done. Also with the serial # they can tell if there has been any major repairs or recalls done.
If it is on a boat, make sure and take it some place and run it, weather you get to drive it or not, do not buy until it is run with you in it, or driving it.

for the age of you boat that is real low hours my boats a 2005 and and has close to 4000 on itno way like a new motor, if it has sat around for awhile may need a new waterpump but that's easy
