How can I put an electric choke carburetor on my 86' evinrude 25hp?

Question:
Right now it it a remote steer electric start motor but does not have any sort of choke on it which is kind of wierd. My throttle control already has the switch for electric choke i just need to hook it up to a new electric choke carb

It will require quite a few parts to hook up a new electric choke. You might try and call a local Evinrude dealer and see if they have a 25hp engine for parts. Just a new primer solenoid costs $112.85 retail, plus the additional fittings and hoses.

ive never seen an outboard without a choke.even my fuel injected yamaha has a choke.does the engine start ? or do you have to crank it till it gets warm? you have some type of choke on the carb, so you can get a remote plunger and fab a bracket to mount it in a worst case scenario. id pull the cover and take a second look.you only choke it at cold start.
