If you have a working jib, try changing to a Jennoa (might not be spelled properly) jib. These carry more area and if used correctly can double the total sail area. The “Jenny” can help you outpoint your opponent and in the long run you can overtake your opponent blanket his wind and because you outpoint him/her keep them from coming back at you. well if you can modify so that you can use a higher powered battery, you will GREATLY increase the speed. Also, there are also things to think about as far as the aerodynamics of your boat.

Always make sure the batteries are fresh. RC products quickly drain batteries (that is assuming your product uses batteries and not gas). Is your boat a one design class?? If so, you can probably get a set of high performance sails. If it is not a class boat you can still improve performance with well made and shaped sails. Also fair the hull completely. Remove all rough areas or mold impressions and wax and polish the hull. If possible, reduce weight aloft.
