It sounds like the glue is letting go, unlikely a hair dryer would solve it. There are 2 things at work. The cloth is probably glued to the "foam" panel behind it. The glue can degrade over the years or the foam can degrade over the years where it interacts with the glue.Your roof is right above that so extreme cold or heat has been transfered and stressed those bonds for a few years now.

had a similar problem years ago. the ceiling material had a foam backing or insulation that just crumbled. the wife and i put on goggles and masks and ripped it all out. we live and travel in warm weather so insulation wasn't a big deal when we went back with the material. the wife found some acceptable "sticky" paper and we did the do. kept the rig for 5 more years with no more ceiling problem..I would like advice on how to handle a narrow Boat single handed.?
