Question:
We got a piece of fishing line hung around it the other day. Pulled it off and it seemed to work fine. But now that it's out of the water, I noticed there is oil leaking around the hub. What do I do?

Where can I find parts and manuals for a late 1950's Scott-Atwater 9 Hp motor?
Drain lube, remove bearing carrier, replace prop shaft seals; inny, outty (lubed with gear oil), place carrier back in place; mind the 'O' rings, tighten nuts, and fill with gear lube.
Will a keel guard stick to an area that is scuffed and has a homemade repair?
did you remove the prop?? that mono line can get under the seal & make it leak. usually after removing the line all is ok. be sure to check the gear oil for water & replace if necessary. seals don't cost much & are relatively easy to replace.Does my 1972 evinrude boat motor have oil?
I had this problem once. The fishing line has damaged a seal and it needs to be tended to by a professional.More Questions & Answers ...
