Boat Licence in NSW?

Hi can anyone tell me how to go about obtaining a boat licence in NSW please and do you have to do so many hours on the water as a learner or what how does it work?

you dont have to drive on the water, like you would tkaing a test in a car. when i got my boat licence all i did was take a test. then they gave me a card and said your good to go. all you have to do is find a place to take the test/class and you can get a boat licence
