Question:
I have a 1996 Nitro bass boat with a 150 hp mercury. The power trim on the motor and at the top of the bow works great, except for the trim switch on the trottle lever. Can someone tell me how to open up the lever so I can check the wiring? There doesn't seem to be any screws for me to unscrew. Is this a minor problem only? Thanks in advance.

Where's the best place to look for a second hand barge?
I believe the plastic cap that surrounds the trim switch will just pop off with a screw driver. There are 3 wires to the switch. one is hot and the others would be hot on whatever way you have the switch pushed (either up or down) and you can check this with a voltmeter. You should also check the plug in the wiring harness that these wires plug into for a good connection .Good luck.
What is the name for a table on a boat that doesn't rock with the waves?
no clueIS there any marine terms guide or webside?
this must be a heat sealed ,batter chevk withsome mechanic...There should be a button at the center of the throttle lever (this button is used to operate the throttle without making the engine move into either forward or reverse). If it's an original Mercury control box, this button should be black. This button pops out if you CAREFULLY pry on it with a small screwdriver. Once the button is removed, there will be either a phillips head screw or a hex head bolt. Remove this screw or bolt and the throttle lever will come off the control box. Now, if you look at the back of the throttle handle, you'll see a series of phillips head screws that, when removed, will allow you access to the trim/tilt switch.
What items is mercury (hg) used in and why?
One thing you may want to look at before removing the throttle handle . . . pull the cowl off the engine and look for the wires that connect the control box to the engine assembly (it'll be a large, black bulkhead connector). There will be a couple of wires coming off this harness (one wire will be blue and the other green in color). Make sure these two wires are connected to their corresponding wires that go to the power trim/tilt motor. Also, you may want to consider checking the operation of the trim/tilt switch from the wires I just spoke of as they directly connect to the switch in the throttle handle.
Please may someone explain about yachtmaster courses?
Hope this helps!
What can I use instead of marine plywood ply?
before you try to pry the center button from it's seat, press it and move the lever fwd. then take 2 small screw drivers and pop it out. inside is an 11/16" or 17mm. nut to remove. there, you have it in your hand. by the way, after you remove the button, you can shift it back to neutral. probably a harness problem...unplugged, mouse, etc.More Questions & Answers ...
