Buying a used boat? Questions to ask?
I don't know if this a design project or are you going to actually build a car/boat? The Amphicar of the sixties was the only one I know of that was a commercial venture and it failed because it was slow in the water and on land. Search Yahoo or Google for "amphibious cars" and you'll get some ideas. You can't really expect anything valid on this site. BTW, there are still a few Amphicars running around today I'll bet there is an Amphicar association out there on the net - you might get some great info there. How do you winterize a boat with inboard/outdrive?
in the 50's there was a car that did that it could have been the 60's i remember seeing this car it was a sports car type thing from europeamphibious
WHEN YOU MAKE THE WHEELS SEE TO THAT THEY CAN BE DRAGGED UP INTO THE EMPTY SPACE PROVIDED ABOVE THEM.THIS YOU CAN GET BY PUTTING THE LIVER WHICH WE USE FOR LIFTING CARS ABOVE THE TYRES THAT WOULD LOWER THE TYRES WHEN ON ROAD AND WOULD BRING THEM TO THE BOTTOM LEVEL OF THE BOAT WHEN IN WATER TO MAINTAIN BALANCE.
COMING TO THE SHAPE OF THE CAR TRY TO MAKE IT AS FLAT AS POSSIBLE AT THE BOTTOM AND THE DOME YOU CAN MAKE IT TO A SEMI ARC MODEL THIS WILL LOOK GREAT.AND YOU WILL HAVE ENOUGH SPACE TO GET IN TOO.
