What kind of truck would you recommend to pull a 1400 lb boat on a trailer?

Question:
I'm looking at a 1400 pound boat, that is 18 feet long. What kind of truck would you recommend to pull this? The smaller the truck the better, but it obviously has to be safe.

How old do u have to be to operate a waverunner in mexico without a parent?

you don't need a truck for that, and car with a V6 and front wheel drive will have no problem, towing a boat is not a big deal, and not much H.P is required, where H.P. and torque are needed is when you pull the boat up the ramp when leaving, I pull a fully dressed 15' "Whaler" with a '96 Grand Prix (V6 FWD), it's pretty heavy (about 900 lbs without the trailer 1300-1400 lbs+ with the trailer and toys.

Mercruiser 454 knocking?

Any compact pick-up with a v6 around 200hp will do the job. As long as it has a V6 you should be fine without any reliability issues, like over straining the power train. However, it if has much than 200 hp it might accelerate or maintain speed up hills very well.

I would recommend the F150 4X4 we have a number of them and we pull trailerors 8 000 to 10 000 LBS they don't burn much feul and they are a real work horse will take anything that you can throw at them. but a boat like that you can even pull with an SUV
or for that matter a mini van

Thats not a very big boat, so I would go with something like a Toyota Tacoma v6, you could buy a ranger or S10
but if you want a reliable truck stick with the Toyota. Mine pulls 1600 lbs. no problem with a pop up camper on it and gets 16 mpg when its totally loaded.

We have always liked the Dodge Dakota for our boat trailering. You could use a smaller one with that weight, any compact truck, we hauled many with the Dodge D-50, 4 cylinder.

Most mid-sized trucks can tow 3500 pounds.

Tall Ships ?

I'd get a F-150. Even one with a V6 would do the job. You don't need a fancy truck. Just a regular cab 2 wheel drive would easily do the job. You'd really have to get on the fuel to get you boat out of the ramp but it will work.
