The best is Y-10 Jelly Fiberglass cleaner. It is non abrasive, and requires no scrubbing. You apply and rinse. Find it at your local marine store. It is the best that I have found. There is a creamy solution that is sold in hardware stores. It used to come in a metal can.
What is the best kind of boat for sailing around the world? I'm thinking it would carry six people.?
Everyday dirt and grim come off easily with baking soda and water.i have a question about getting a jon boat registered.?
tidy bowl bathroom cleaner. we have used this for years.wet the boat pour this over the fiberglass and rub with a sponge
rinse well and let dry. it removes water stain build up, its cheaper than those expensive boat cleaners, and leaves the boat with a shine. there is just enough acidic cleaner in the tidy bowl that it cuts through the stains on the boat.
After they make styrofoam, what do they ship it in?
I suppose it depends on what you are trying to clean off, but for regular fiberglass maintainance I wash it with dish soap and water. I also use Meguir's cleaner wax and take it off with a buffer. Best stuff I've found in 20 years of boating, and you can get it relatively inexpensive at any auto store. If you trailer your boat (like I do) and get tar and bugs on it, I use Theford premium RV Black Streak and Bug Remover. Takes off tar, shoe marks, and bugs and is gelcoat safe. (and it's only 4.99 for a 32 oz. bottle) I would caution against any cleaners that have acid (like toilet bowl cleaner), or you can damage your gel coat. If there is oxidation, you can use polishing compound with a buffer before you wax. If you want other information, you can also check this web site. They also have tips for almost all boat maintenance also. Good Luck http://www.boatus.com/boattech/casey/01....Bar Keeper's Friend. I find it at Bed, Bath and Beyond.
