The ice can squeeze a power boat more than a sail boat due to hull shape. There are too many variables to determine problems or cost. We left our sail boat in ,but all water systems were winterized and the engine had antifreeze. We also left a heater set to 39 degrees that kept the inside warm all winter. Some people use a light bulb over the engine.

depends on the type of water and how cold it was (is). as long as the water temperature doesn't go below 28degrees (saltwater) or 32 (freshwater) you should be fine (in terms or ice damage). it is okay as long as the rest of the boat is properly covered to store it in the water year round because the water is warmer than the air in the winter. corrosion is another story but that has nothing to do with being in the winter or summer. if the water did freeze also look around your hull for damage by ice there. worst case scenario (depending on engine) your probably looking at $500-2500 in damage. (possibly more or less)

After having the engine looked at for ice damage, make sure you replace the main seal between the drive and the hull. Also look at your control line hose covers. Having a small tear in them will cause the engine bay to flood.
