Fiberglass boat. Needs paint job, also has spider cracks (top side ) in gel coat only.?

I don't have one but a good friend of mine does. It's a Seahawk 400 I believe, made for 4 people but it comfortably seats 3. It's inflatable and came with two plastic paddles.

I might be getting my own for this summer. I liked it because it's cheap (around $80), durable, portable and comfortable. For dinghy's, I think that inflatable is the way to go unless you'll be using it primarily for fishing. I say this because when you go out fishing a lot, there's always a chance you get the boat hooked and tear it. Otherwise, the material is very durable and you never have to worry about a hole. There's also several different internal compartments so that if a hole develops in one, you're not going to sink out in the water or anything.

Best of all, it deflates down to the size of a suitcase. This portability is great for trips - and you can keep it in the trunk of your car if you have the room. I think that hard plastic or wood boats would be a pain to store and drag out.

Also, inflatables are obviously very comfortable. You don't need any cushions or anything - just sit or lay back and you could fall asleep floating in the water.

How do i find the previous owner to a boat?

As far as accessories go, he has an electric pump which comes in handy, because using a mechanical air pump can be a pain when you're in a hurry. I also would think about purchasing new paddles, as upgrades over the plastic ones the boat comes with.

You can find these boats at most outdoors/sporting goods stores.

Where is the best place to go boating?

We have towed a Cape Dory 10 as our dinghy. When it surfed off following waves it tended to crash in to the stern of our big boat.We put a dock corner on it. We did not sell it.(It sails, rows and motors)
We have towed a rubber dinghy, it was better to put it on board.(This one went to our daughter who turned it into a swimming pool for the kids. If it keeps water out, it keeps water in. We mailed it from MD to NY) We got one with a solid bottom next. They had motors.
Now we carry our 2 person kayak on the starboard side rail.

Tips on anchoring a boat?

I have a Livingston. It is a catamaran style so it is very stable. It has a little motor that makes so much noise that it is embarrassing, so I only row it. The inflatables are also stable, and they are lighter than hard boats. The inflatables are lousy to row.

I have a 15' Whaler but, that's like my main boat, I have seen my "Main Boat", used as dingy's on board larger vessels, nothing like feeling poor when a boat goes by with your's as it's "Dingy".
