Pros & Cons of an inboard vs. outboard engine?

Question:
Im interested in about a 16-19 ft. skiing boat. Surprisingly there is not too much difference in price between the two. At least from what I have seen.

Answers:

Any sailors out there? I have a spinaker that came w/ my 26 foot sailboat. I am now buying a 30 foot boat.?

both the first two guys have good points. on ski boats noise becomes a factor...inboard. if you have to buy a new engine, believe it or not, inboard will be cheaper. you will need a pro to change out an inboard and you can change an outboard yourself with minimum equipment. and the list is endless. i'd recommend the inboard or inboard/outboard just due to convenience and looks.

Yacht Captain?

for skiing get an inboard so motor will not be in the way.

hi!Can you give me website adress that ı can find sailboat picture?

If you have the option, I'd suggest the outboard. Reasons: Easier to maintain, easier to replace, easier to change out if it breaks, no thru hull fittings to worry about.

Has anyone seen that ship that submerged 1 mile of shore. It's the msc napoli?

inboards aleast you wont worry about knocking your lower of the motor off verus outboard plus inboard are cheaper to work on because it is basically regular car motor

which is your personal favourite?

Inboard. why on earth would you need to be able to replace the engine so easily that an outboard would be a better choice? I am guessing just by the ? that you likely won't be doing any engine replacing yourself, anyway. And its not any harder, the boat has to come out of the water, period. you can get a rope, or leg, caught in an outboard prop. Inboards are not gonna have the prop ripped off or bent on a rock just under the surface, either.
