Fast and Slow Needle Speed adjustments, 2 hp Johnson OB Mtr?

Question:
Any one know what the initial settings are supposed to be for the fast and slow speed needles of a single cylinder,1985 2 hp Johnson outboard motor? (J2RCOC). Ie; number of turns off closed seat.

Answers:

Evinrude 60 hp?

let your low speed do 1 1/2 out. the high speed can ruin the motor if you get carried away. start at 3/4 out and possibly turn it in up to a quarter of a turn. never close to less than 1/2 turn open.
