How does a marine heavy fuel oil purifier work?

Question:

Answers:

1957 EVINRUDE LARK mint condition?

A Marine Fuel Purifier, also referred to as a centrifuge or separator, works using centrifugal force to separate the oil from heavier substances such as water or solids. The fuel is also allowed to "settle" in the settling tanks letting gravity do some of the work. It is also run through a series of filters. Keep in mind that heavy fuel such as #6 must be heated to flow.
