A friend of mine is a sailor and he was telling me they found a ghost ship once, an abandoned ship that was lost several years earlier. How many ghosts ships might be in the ocean, What happened to their crue, do some companies dump old ships in the ocean to float around forever, are they hazardous, any information would be helpful.

you're buddy is full of poo poo i spent 20 years in the navy been in all 7 seas never heard of any ship that was afloat for several years. now on the other hand I've seen ships abandoned for days only and taken buy salvegers.most are sold to India for scrap. with the technology over the past 10 years and all the satellite's taken pictures daily theres no ships just floating around with no crew. we track iceburgs by satellite you would see them and that technology is way older than 20 years so eather hes a old salt or hes full of pooi'm considering a 5 horse briggs and stratton outboard, anybody know about them?
There is no ghost! The companies always do this crime against the environmental. It is the "federal" issue. Try to report to your federal members of parliament, or look at telephone book, or Internet and find US Government agency responsible for "Environmental Issue" Then they would give you a proper contact number. I do not think that ships are set free in the oceans. Some are sunk. However sometimes when crew are rescued from a boat by the Coast Guard, the boat actually has sailed into a pot area lter and been okay.(Known to have happened in Hawaii, East Coast NC and NJ.Also if one is single handing a boat and falls off the boat is free to sail away.)What are the names of the positions in the crew of a ship or a sailboat?
some boats are just ripped from their mooring during rough seas or some if anchored out to avoid hitting docking are torn from their anchor or the anchor may become loose letting the boat just drift. also despite what you may think there are still pirates out their. they will take over a boat and either sink it, claim it as theirs and let there boat just go or will just run for whatever reason and leave the other boat just floating out. there are all kinds of different things that can happen on the open water. not to mention everyone catching some weird disease and just dying off.am looking for a small hydraulic pump/drive? for ROV project?
