Best pratices for car salesman?
Yes, it is called Inspeccion Tecnica de Vehiculos, ITV, and after the 4 firsts years, you have to pass it every year. It is very easy to pass.Depends where the car is registered. If you have a UK car, the police in Spain don't really know what they're looking for with regard to MOT and tax etc but remember, officially, your insurance is void without it. On a spanish car, the MOT is called an ITV and you have to get it done when a car is 4 yrs old and, contrary to popular belief, you do have to pay tax. The tax is very cheap compared to UK and they don't chase you for it but when you come to sell the car, you will have to pay what you owe before you can sign over the paprework.
if its English registered the main thing you need is insurance. the itv ( mot ) is voluntary for English cars and not mandatory. you cant tax a British car as legally you can only have it out of the UK for 6 months therefore it will have to be taxed in in the UK and mot.
How do i sell a used car that i just dont want?
but on the other hand there are that many British cars that the police very raillery bother British cars as they are not sure what to do, although some areas the Spanish police have been on courses in Britain.
