I bought a brand new Ford Focus '02 back in '02 and it was the worst car I ever owned. It had to be in the shop 18 times in the first year for major mechanical problems. I loved everything about the car except the mechanical aspects. Can you negotiate the payoff amount in a lease buyout?
No, American cars are not so fuel efficient and I forgot to add, it's not so reliable. It doesn't last too long. That's why they're not making that much money. Look at GMC, they're losing big time.Try Japanese cars like Hundai (sp?) Toyota, Acura, Nissan (definately this one's good!) etc.

I think best buy is the Nissan Sentra. You'd like it, it's compact tho. Or if you're looking for midsize, try the Nissan Altima. Those are too good to be true!

It depends on the price. I own a 2000 Focus and while I wouldn't recommend paying too much for one, it's been a quite dependable car for me. My wife and I have put over 30,000 miles on it, and the only mechanical problem it's had was a parking brake handle button that got stuck in the handle. Other than that, it's just needed basic maintenance.
When buying a new car, I want to pay only price of car, their trans. fee. How much more for dealer?
If you want it to last the next couple of years, dont buy a Ford, especially a focus. Theyre cheap (quality wise) and crappy. Get a Cavalier, Sunfire, etc.More Questions & Answers ...
