Question:
aveo v. cobalt,, any ideas??
Answers:
The new redesigned models are an improvement, but they are still nothing special. It is a Daewoo rebadged as a Chevy. I would under no circumstances buy a used one, they were just horrible. A new one holds a little more allure, but not all that much. It is a one trick pony. Good mileage is about all it offers. The interiors were improved, it is competitively priced and offers a good warranty. For the $12000 or so you would spend on this, I would get a used Civic or Corolla. If it has to be a new car, a Ford Focus will be around this price after all the rebates and incentives.
I have a 2004 Aveo hatchback that I bought brand new. It was my first brand-new car and all I could afford. It now has 26k miles and is still going strong. I love the look of it (very European and I get lots of nice comments), it's really roomy (I'm 6'5''), I've taken it on several long trips and it's been very comfortable, the engine performance is actually pretty good and much better than the old Metro I had, I've never had problems going up steep grades, and it was a tremendous help when I moved, it can hold so much stuff!
What do i need to be a truck dealer? i want to to open up my own dealership?
The bad news: Fuel economy could be better, I'm averaging about about 31mpg on the highway, which should be better for a small car.
What is the maximum suggested amount of car mileage to buy in a used car?
Reliablity has been a bit of a mixed bag. I bought one of the first ones which can be trouble and mechanically it's been good. However, I have had a lot of suspension issues with lots of cracking and popping noises over bumps. It seems to be problem with the 04's but was fixed on newer models. Also had a small oil leak that was fixed under warranty.
Should I buy a 1986 16v VW Scirocco for a daily driver?
If you have high expectations, you won't like the Aveo. But if all you are looking for is basic transport that looks stylish, it's an excellent car. Just follow the advice from earlier and don't buy a used one; it is a rebadged Daewoo and many are rental cars.
