Okay, I know someone who bought this truck, only a couple of months later he found out that it was a lemon, because he was driving, speed limit, not doing anything wrong (he's a firefighter, and was in ambulence for a long time, he doesn't want to end up like some of the people he's dealt with...) anyways, the transfer case fell out, right in the middle of the highway... Then a few days later the motor screwed up somehow... anyways, he took it back, told them that was it, he wasn't putting up with a lemon... They turned around, rebuilt the motor, sold it to someone else, and now their charging him 14 thousand dollars for their losses in the sale...
This is Canada, so Canada and USA may very on this, i'm not sure... Anyone have any ideas? I don't know how to help him here, and i don't want to see my best friend be hurt when he did nothing wrong....

From what my Canadian friends and relatives tell me, Canadian law is similar to US law. All sales are final. What he did wrong was dump the car off and not pay for it. Sorry, but there are no lemon laws that cover used vehicle sales. The other thing he did wrong was not have the vehicle checked out by a qualified independant mechanic prior to buying it.His losses would have been MUCH lower if he had fixed the vehicle himself. Now he's pretty much stuck with whatever the finance company says the numbers are.
