You'll want something with a mile range under $100,000 if you can get it. Also, try to find a car later than 1998. Basically any Japanese cars are great - Hondas, Nissans, Toyotas, etc. Domestic cars are cheaper but less reliable. I do NOT recommend a Kia or a Hyundai.My husband is a general sales manager for used cars in Texas. First, use your resources...then, watch the news. Toyota is just on the heels of General Motors in the U.S. for business and selling cars. It's not because they're sitting on their rear ends! Buy a Toyota, very dependable, very reliable, and very good when you decide to sell it.

A clean used Civic would be smart and fun choice. The Bimmer is cool until you're stuck at the dealer service department buying genuine BMW parts at crazy prices. Plus, the E36 (1992-1999) models might start to look a little dated soon, as the newer 3-series designs become more prominent on the roads.what happen if i have bought a car with outstanding fiance.?
i would get the bmw just because i think it looks better than the hatchback but if youre goin on stats. they both will last you to 500k if properly taken care of..If you have a set dollar amount you want to spend I would recommend checking the want ads or craigs list and making your choice based on what they offer. There are some wonderful cars out there, but they might not ever get down to your price range. Good luck!

check into a kia. i have 2 of them and have not had any problems. purchased my spectra in january of 2006 and is a 2004 only spent 6000. very good and reliable. don't get all of the toys and stuff, but can get a newer vehicle which will probably give you less problems down the road.Where can I buy a used Cargo van!?

There is nothing wrong with buying an older BMW or Civic in your price range, however the question that needs answers is how much will it cost to make it roadworthy to justify your investment to make it last for a few years
