Trying to by a Peterbilt Truck?
carsdirect.com won't necessarily give you the best price. I was shopping for a Toyota Prius. The "guaranteed low price" on carsdirect.com was several hundred dollars over the price one dealer offered me over email (without any negotiation).Should I get a v6 or a v8 camaro for my first car?
Theoretically, dealing with the fleet sales manager at a dealership would have the potential to get you a better price than a broker, since with a broker like carsdirect.com, the dealership would have to pay the broker a commission.
The best strategy may be to get a price from one dealer, ask another dealer to beat it, and so on. If you have trouble getting a decent price quote, present them with the carsdirect price quote.
To know what the vehicle really costs to the dealer, find out the invoice price and factory incentives, such as the "holdback". (But when dealing with the salespeople who greet you as you walk into the place, keep in mind that their commission is usually based on the amount over invoice, so an offer below invoice would not seem reasonable to them even if the dealership would still be making a profit.)
If u bought a car and it broke down a few days later and they fixed it and its fine then...?
My husband is a retired class A motor mechanic. When we bought our car, wegot it from the dealership he worked at. We saw it, rode in it and were very happy
with it. We knew it was a good car. 2002 Nissan Sentra. If you go over the internet you might get stung like our son did. He knows his cars, but he still got
stung. He wound up getting rid of it. You want to be able to see and experience
what you are buying. How do you know the person is reputable??
