The SMART FourFour is discontinued what effects will it have on price?

I have had my Smart for 2 years and rumour has it that now it (& the sporty model) are discontinued the price will plummet - does anyone else have this problem?

Normally when a car is discontinued the price will drop especially in the secondhand market this has already happened to Rover.Unfortunately the FourFour was not mass produced like alot of others and i think this will futher devalue the vehicle.The smart roadster i believe will be continued but under a new badge because of its popularity.The 2 factors ;lack of production & being discontinue will make this cars price drop quickly over a short time.Hope this helps you ,if you have one my advice is sell now while you can get a reasonable price.

discontinued? we here in the USA only have about 2 dealers that sell Smarts. But later this year they are suppose to launch more. I have not heard anything about it being stopped.

There's a bit of a cult around the Roadster, at least, I wouldn't be surprised if the last few sell for a premium. (Well, if there are still any new ones for sale, even, wasn't it discontinued last year?)

It probably won't be a huge difference. It's not like the manufacturer is going under. And production of the roadster is going to continue, eventually (under a Chinese company) so there will probably still be parts available even if Mercedes stopped providing them.
