I'm planning on buying a new car, but my car is currently worth more than the car I want to buy. I'd like to trade it in for the new car, but i don't think the dealer would pay me the difference. Would they?

If you trade it you will get hammered, your better off selling it outright.

You're probably best to sell it privately, then buy the car you want.
If this is too much hassle, enter into an agreement where you trade your current vehicle for the one you want, and the dealer will pay you cash for the difference.

How much roughly would it cost to buy a Mistubishi Lancer Evolution and bring it to Canada in total?

From my understanding, when you trade in your car, the dealer is essentially buying your car from you. If you old car is worth more than the new, then the the dealer owes you, plain and simple.

Is there a site i can go on to find cars for sale by personal owners in my area?

The question is...what is your car worth to the dealer?

How do you sell a car that you still owe on/don't hold the title for?

Generally you get less $ by trading-in than selling to a private party because the dealer still has to perform maintenance, clean your car, provide warranty, and then sell it for profit. The benefit is that you do not have to deal with the hassles of trying to sell your car on your own.

Would you buy a 2002 Volkswagen Beetle with 59000 miles on it if it was in good shape and $12000?

Selling the car outright would be a better deal,, unless you get the dealer to give you a top trade in value of what you feel is fair... I am sure most dealers would love to see this situation this way , if you are a desperate buyer they will make double what they usually would. because they need to eat to..

How to sell my car in queensland. australia?

dealers provide a service. thats it. can you sell your car and get more for it. very possibly. but then you have to advertise the vehicle (which costs), your going to have to deal w/ people coming to your house to look at it, (time), and then deal w/ titling issues, people having to get their money issues etc... it also generally takes 40-90 days to sell a car on average. so there can be the long drawn out issue. not to mention you can run into legal and warranty issues depending on what you say or put in writing for your seller.

also consider that dealer are in business. they then have to turn around, get that car ready to sell to another buyer, which means doing service work, fixing problems, dents dings, tires, glass etc. and then on top of it they have to warranty that vehicle for the next seller which private parties dont do,.

What are the best used cars to look for ?

another thing they dont take into account. is that in most states you get a tax savings when you trade your vehicle. if your buying a $20k car, youll pay taxes on a $20k car. but if you buy a $20k car and trade in a $10k car, you only pay taxes on the $10k difference. if you car is worth more than the car your buying then you wont have to pay any taxes, which often saves you more than what you might have sold your car privately for.

Please give me a list of guy cars?

but back to your original question. if your car is worth xxx amount.and they are willing to trade for it.its worth that amount period. if your buying a car for less than what your trade is worth, 99% of all dealers are going to just cut you a check back for the difference. some will offer you additional benefits for the difference, (warranties, service, accessories, etc..) but those are generally your choices.
