Question:
I just hit the 1 year mark on my lease, and unfortunately I also have had a sessure. According to NY law, you can not drive for atleast a year if you have a sessure, and maybe more, because you have to be sessure free for a year before they will review your abiltity to drive. While a year seems not to long, paying a lease payment each month for a car that I can't drive just stinks. I just wanted to know my options before I call up the company.
Answers:
You may be able to freeze the payments for a while, but again, it is up to their discretion.
u can get out of it but u will lose lots od money.. they don't care about your problems.. whyoh why would yopu tell the DMV you medical problems...my mom told them she was diabetic and they suspended her lic..It was heii getting it back..
Finance companies do not usually care about medical problems, you could dump the car in a river somewhere to get the ins company to pay it off, or find someone that will assume payments.
try contacting a lawyer to help you but for the most part i think you have to honor the lease for another year
sorry to hear about your medical probs. I heard about a friend with a similar problem. He leased a new vehicle for 36mo. At 12 months into the lease, his license was suspended for a year. He put some ads around to find someone who would lease the vehicle for the remaining 24mo through him - paying him back or whatever. Im not sure if thats legal, cuz it was still iin my friends name. oh well. speak to your dealer. unfortauntly the most they'll probably do is freeze your payments for a year, but they'll require a lot of written proof from the DMV, doctors, whateveer...
I need a reliable first time car for cheap. anyone selling or know a place?
you can probably get out of it cause that wouldn't be fair if you did have to pay cause your not using the car.. well i hope it goes well... good luckMore Questions & Answers ...
