Used car with best gas mileage?
Well I've bought several real good used cars for under $2K, but take someone with you who knows and look them over real careful. If you can find one, say a 2000, 2001 model with low miles, that is as far under 100,000 as you can get then see if the owner has records for oil changes, repairs made, and look for wear on the brake pedal, drivers seat, dash knobs, etc. If its a nice car that's been cared for you may get many years of service out of it, and save thousands you would spend on a new one. Insurance is also cheaper on a used car. As for particular model, the Toyota Camry is nice,so is the Corolla. Some of the little Fords are good. depends on what size, etc. Just be sure to shop around. that part of it can actually be fun!What is the best kind of truck to buy?

There are lots of older cars you can buy for $2000. If looks are not important, I would look at cars like the Ford Escort, Festiva, or anything else that is real good on gas and will have a low insurance rate.Any suggestions for a car w/ a decent amound of cargo space?
I just bought a 95 Sable for $1200. I spent about $300 for a fuel pump, 2 hubcaps and some fluid changes and have a great car. It has a perfect body and interior. I got it from a mechanic when the owner didn't want to pay the bill and abandoned it.$300 is about average when you buy an older vehicle in good shape for the routine maintenance you'll need to do to it.
