Just check with the garage to see what their repayment terms are, what % interest they charge, and your options for repayment, IE 12 months, 24,36 etc, then do same with the bank, which ever offers the cheapest % rate and the best repayment policy to suit you, go with that.What happens if you purchase a car and your check bounces?

Loans from a bank will have a much lower interest rate than finance from a garage/dealer. In any case, you're better off getting a car that is at least 2 years old. Most of the depreciation happens in that time.Will the prices of cars in india come down after 2007 budget ?
Work out how much you need to borrow and enter the details on moneysupermarket.com, it will compare the market for the cheapest loan rates, giving you an indication of your monthly repayments.If you're a new driver though, I would consider an older, run-about car instead of a new one. New drivers tend to bump their car, your better builing up your no-claims in an older model, but thats just my opinion.

Make sure the flat rate on the finance is less than 5% and haggle hard, try to play 2 garages. Get a price from one then go to another and see what they can do then go back to the original. Finance from garage is easier to obtain but means you would have to pay full amount back before you can sell car privately, also ask if there is a massive settlement charge incase you want sell car early. Dealers often reduce screen price of car then make it back on interest from the finance. Finally, dont uy brand new as you will lose 15% at least when you drive car out of garage, get a new shape clio with low miles (pre registered cars are sound buys) and avoid imports. If you cant afford a car then dont buy one.OR if you mean you cant afford to buy one outright then yes go to a garage and tell the salesman what you can afford (monthly and be realistic) then you should get a decent car that will last you a good while. Having said that, provided the catch has been rectified (and get that in writing) they're good little cars. Some have had electrical problems, but that's standard French electrics for you.
