Can I trade-in a car worth more than one I buy?

Question:
Does Dealers generally accept a trade-in if the value of the trade in is more than the new car I want to buy ? I am planning to buy a pre-owned BMW for 27000 and my trade-in Honda Odessey is 29000 as per KBB. You think Dealer will accept my car and give me BMW and 2000 in cash ?

Answers:

Nissan sentra or toyota corolla?

Chances are the dealer will say that your Honda is worth only $27,000. But dealers will give cash difference if there are no liens on either car and you are not taking out any loans.

I have a vehicle that needs some work and i just dont have the cash to fix it. where would i find a to donate?

don't count on it. does your honda have ANY scratches, dings, dents, or imperfections? brand new tires? smoked in? as a dealer, we will find SOME way to make a dollar or two. plus, the one thing lacking on the KBB page is an option to PRINT CHECK.
that page is a guideline, not gospel
