Question:
leased a car, ended up not liking it they Pd off my old lease, now i have to go back in to sign a new contract. i dont want the car now they agreed they couldnt make me take it but are telling me i have to reinstate my old lease .. they have already paid it off ? can they do this

Answers:

How do you obtain a used car dealer license in California?

You're a bit confusing with your info there... What they CAN do is take back the car you didn't like. They can then substitute it with one you do like. You (and they) have a contract that they were "good enough" to let you return the car noted on the contract. This does not however, let you out of the entire contract; just that car. They can find you a car you like and re-write the contract for any additional charge (the one you didn't like was a basic Chev and the one you do like is a Rolls Royce) and have you re-sign it. Should you choose NOT to re-sign for the same term (or remaining term, or longer term to lower the monthly costs to fit your budget) on a different car (or any car from them); they can sue you for breach of contract.
Hope this helps...
