Your best bet is to either go to your library or buy the Consumer reports 2007 auto pricing guide. They give you the MSRP, what the dealer pays for the car, and what you should be able to buy the car from the dealer. I did this with my Jetta. I went into the dealership and went right to the fleet/sales manager. I told him I was prepared to buy a car that day. I told him I had done my homework and made him my offer. He even asked me where I got my figures. He checked his inventory and had what I wanted. He checked his invoice and counter offered within $100 of my offer. It was a no-brainer. If at all possible have your financing in place before you go. Try to go near the end of the month and on a weekday morning. They have quotas and as it nears the end of the month they try to sell as many as possible.
