What do hate about car sales people? What can I do to sell more cars a close more deals?

I am a Internet/Fleet maager at a car dealership in Oakland and have been doing it for abour 4 years. I understand why there is a bad reputation for car sales people but the new generation of sales people are reall good. We are trying to go above and beyond to over come the stigma. I know that there a are a few bad apples in the business but over the years they are disapearing. I am completley honest with my customers and provide a clear channel of comunication. But some times that back fires on me. some people just like the grind. they like to beat me up for hours no matter what. It makes it not worth doing business. they beat me up for four hours and leave me no porfit. I rather give the the same deal form the beggining but no one ever goes for the first price. I gues what I am trying to find out from you guys is how I can sell the car to you, Save you and me time, Have an enjoyable transaction, and still make a small but fair profit.Do I reall have to go through all bs.

salesmen have gotten a bad rap from years before you and now you have to live in their world, everyone see's a salesman and they know they are going to get screwed on a new car so they expect to haggle with you, can't be a pleasant experience every day to go through, best way is just give the bottom price right off the bat and if they don't like it tell them bye, bye, your biggest hastle is when there is a trade in and I know how how the customer gets hammered on that and so do you.

i own a repair shop,and my family has been in the car business for ever,,most people know the buying process now,,and all they want is an honest price,and and an honest salesman since the Internet has been open for business people have become more alert with bad sales,and know how to avoid them all you have to do to be a good salesman is be your self,,treat people like you would like to be treated if you was buying a car do this ,and you,ll get a good reputation of being a good salesman it wont happen over night though,,you,ll have to earn it,,good luck,hope this help,s,,PS i sold 42 this year ,only helping out on the lot when they needed help,i don't want to do it all the time,but it feels good to give someone a good deal on a car .,,have a good x-mas.

$hit -- where do I begin to tell you what I hate about car salesmen??
1) 99.99% of all car salesmen (hereafter refered to as landsharks) LIE. They lie even when it doesn't make sense to lie. They lie in their sleep and lie in their dreams.
2) 99.99% of all landsharks are so full of B.S. it bubbles up through their ears. "Yessir, that corrosion protection package we put on your car for $650.00 is a real bargain". Or, "$175.00 for floormats (when a set can be had from Pep Boys for $35.00) is just what you need". How about my favorite: "let me go ask my sales manager if we can possibly come down another $100.00". This one makes me ill -- if you have to ask your damn sales manager this then WHY am I not talking directly to him?
3) The single biggest wonder of all is why doesn't the person selling a product know everything there is to know about the competition? If you are selling Ford trucks I would think you should darn well know everything about the Dodge and Chevy also.
4) I'm with you on the dorks that love to haggle for hours on end. Don't these jerks have lives? I love a bargain as much as anyone but I just want to get the bottom, BOTTOM line from a landshark from the outset. It saves us both time that you can use selling more cars and I can use driving or shopping.
