Toyota or Honda are known for lasting foreverIs there anybody in the central Arkansas area selling a car in the $500-$1,300 range?
Whatever toyota or honda you can afford, preferably a 5 speed fwd car, like a corolla, civic, accord, camry etc. I've always had good luck with Ford products, but avoid automatics. Really a lot of small to mid sized cars that have problems have them because they're not taken care of or they're automatic and driven too hard, most FWD automatic gearboxes just don't hold up to aggressive driving.Toyota is the way to go.

Get a Honda Accord. I have a Honda with 300'000 miles on it and it runs like new. I've had it for 13 years. What vehicle company is most dependable, agreeable, and affordable??
If you buy new, stick with Japanese makes like Toyota and Honda. Used, I would also say you should look at those two first, but there are so many variables that affect the quality of a used car, you can end up with a piece of garbage even with a Toyota or Honda. If you want to see a list of reliable used cars, search though www.consumerreports.com. And when you go to buy, do your research and either bring someone along who knows cars or bring the car itself to a trusted mechanic for a good once over. If the seller won't allow that, walk away and look for another car.Are these repossessed cars worth buying?
