run a carfax on the vehicle, if it is comprehensive chances are someone claimed it on hteir insurance. And why are you buying a car from an auto auction? to save money? most of those cars are there for a reason......because a dearlership didn't want them! (and they are profesionals, something most people are not)

opinions on 2001 Volvo S80? any negatives or positives?

Copart is a salvage auction. Your title will forever be stamped with that salvage brand. Other comp damage could be anything.
Most flood cars are branded parts only ,not rebuildable.
If you are not a reconstructer or a salvage yard I would recommend not buying.
Most of these type auctions and wholesale auctions are restricted to licensed dealers

other comprehensive damage means if you don't own a body shop you aren't interested.
flooded cars have a zillion electrical problems and usually a dirty title.
they are good for stripping nonelectrical parts from for rebuilding other cars.
if no body else is bidding, why should you.
start the car and let it run until it gets up to operating temp if you can. learn th3e basics of mechanics so you can assess these sleds before you get stuck.
we send cars to the auction for a reason

i need a small car that's inexpensive?

Don't order a carfax, leave it where it is. Never buy a car that has flood damage unless you plan to part it out. It may look good ,but has a big chance of being a total lemon. Save a little more and buy a gm certified car. It's well worth it.
