Question:
i bought a used car from a dealership, and yes the car had some problems, not with the engine or anything but parts were missing. i brought it back to them to have everything fixed. it was there for 3 days and nobody called to inform me about my car. 5 days later they said it was waiting to be picked up, so i go to pick it up and NOTHING was fixed. they keep saying parts were ordered and it was being fixed, but everytime i ask, they say the parts are gonna take another week to get in. they have had my car for 10 days now, is it legal for a car dealership to keep your car over a certain period of time?
Answers:
How do I transfer my car loan to someone else and have them take over the payments?
They probably ordered the wrong parts a couple of times. It does happen. It was wrong for them not to call, but it is not illegal for them to have the car that long.Should I buy a car now or wait?
best thing to do with this is call the attorney generals office, and ask them what your options are.I recently purchased a car and...?
Call you attorney general - in many states there are consumer protection laws - every state is different. Other than that - the slime ball dealer has disclaimed everything on his sales contract - be nice & gracious - you may not have a leg to stand on . Also call a local troubleshooter at the local newspaper - car dealers hate bad press.First Car Choice- Viper, Escalade, Corvette, Volvo?
Check to see if your state has a "lemon law". In Florida, you can return the car for a full refund if it doesn't meet certain expectations. If so, find out what constitutes that particular law. Also, call the Better Business Bureau. If you were at a reputable dealership, they would offer you a loaner until the work on your car was finished.More Questions & Answers ...
