my daughter purchased a car in Ohio, the dealer called me to ask if i could co-sign.. i told him no problem but i wanted a fair deal for my kid. When she gets home with the car and calls me i find out it was leased. I refuse to co-sign for a lease and called the dealership, I told him i wanted a new contract. What rights do I have. If i refuse to sign isnt the deal off?

Keep telling the dealer you will only co-sign if it's a FINANCED and not a LEASE. they may relent and tear up the lease contract realizing they may have to take the car back, which deminishes its resale value.

My quick answer is this. Your daughter went to PURCHASE a car and then the dealer called for you to co-sign not a purchase that you assumed but a lease. I say the deal never happened.More Questions & Answers ...
