Salvage title questions answered. Pros and Cons.?

First if you are buying a salvage title I would suggest you are buying it at a very good discount of book value. Otherwise why buy it!

I sold a car, signed over title, now buyer to back out and stop pymt on chk.he claims my cars eng. is clogged?

Second only buy if you plan on driving it for a longer term and dont plan on trading off, they can and will be harder to get rid of. However if you drive enough to get the life out of it you save a ton of money up front.

Do junkyards pay for cars for scrap?

Third if you are going to drive a salvage title vehicle it should be affordable enough you dont need to carry full coverage insurance.

when dealers say tax and tags are extra, how much does that usually run?

Flood cars are bad news! Only buy if at parts car prices and you need parts.

Which customer scares slimy car salesmen the most: A mechanic, an accountant, or an ex-car salesman?

Make sure repairs were properly made, buy from reputable repairers or have work inspected.

Reliable pick-up truck?

I was born and raised in the auto recycling industry and drove salvage title vehicles all my life. I drive $20k cars that I wouldnt be able to afford if they were purchased off the lot for wholesale prices. A great way to save some money and drive what i otherwise couldnt afford.

Why are these cars so cheap? Buy them for resale?
