k, im looking to fix up a car for the first time. I want to to a little sporty. I don't want to spend more than 2500 on the car before fix up. and max i will ever spend on engine work is 4500 bucks. this is mostly for the experience of fixing up a car but also want to make it worth it. A little power would be nice to:) I want a car that looks cool but the demand isnt high and i can get parts for too. I got a 96 dodge neon i can fix up but it doesn't have power worth squat. and I got a 93 dodge shadow that only has 41 thousand miles on it i can fix up. whats a good car to fix up?

You can get a early or mid 90's civic they are sporty,reliable,easy to work on ,have a huge variety or parts oem,performance or salvage that are cheap. They also have a huge variety of cutstom things that you can do to them such as enigine swaping to stylish body part changing, The idaes are endless with them.Souinds like something in the mid-eighties. Shouldn't cost too much to purchase. 4500 may not last long depending on what's wrong with the car. So be careful when you get the car, make sure you understand everything that will be involved in the repair. I mean make sure there are no major flaws with the car. Cosmetics and minor maintenace are a good way to start.
Also try and find a mentor, or someone who has a history of doing this and have them help get you started.
